It's Fall Y'all

What a wonderful and crazy Fall we at the Cameron Globaloria Game Design Class have had. We worked diligently to create our mini games aaaaand we were successful. Some of our students have really excelled in Flash and I am very proud of them. Some work harder than others (Come on guys!) but overall they are doing really good. Trying to upload our games has really been a challenge but they have never complained only expressed concern that they would not have their game up on time.

Choosing A Topic

I chose my topic based on the need for my students to understand the necessary decisions that must be made in order to be successful in everyday life. Students are asked on a daily basis to make financial decisions and often so not know what the bet desicision would be to yield them the greater benefit.

Your topic needs to be a topic that you understand and that you have determined the need for. The process we work through to decide on our final topic is the process we use through the games design planning to make sure we do not deter from our purpose. Remeber to make sure you have narrowed your topic down enough so that you can create a game in the alloted time frame. You are permitted to work on your game at home but must remember that 'leaving your work at home' is never an excuse for not working in class.

Hope you all are having a great day in class today. I am in a technology training meeting but wanted to touch base with you so that you will know where you should be while I am out for the day. :) Don't forget to make your blog entry today. See you soon!

Great Job!

Students at Cameron High School have been working diligently to imrpove their wiki and blog pages. It is amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. CHS started think about topics today and by Monday they will have decided exactly what they want their games to be like. We are in the S.T.E.M. knowledge area becasue it offers a wider aray of subjects to focus on. Some students have chosen to work alone and others have chosen to work in group. In total I have two groups of two and 3 individuals. Five games total. This is a fun time as I watch my students focus on their goal for their game. Research began today so that they can narrow down their topic and make it easier to work with. It is great to hear them sharing ideas and 'teaching' each other and me how to do different things on the wiki and in our blogs. Go Dragons!
